| WHAT: | Take a walk down memory lane with the second installment of JUNO Decades: 40thAnniversary Concert Series, proudly presented by the Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC), is celebrating the hits of the ’80s. Some of the most iconic Canadian artists of the Decadence Era: Chalk Circle, Maestro Fresh Wes, Platinum Blonde, 2008 Canadian Music Hall of Fame recipient Rik Emmett of Triumph return to the stage at Toronto’s Horseshoe Tavern joined by Modern Superstitions and San Sebastian. Foremost past MuchMusic VJ Christopher Ward will host the event; one of four concerts in celebration of the JUNO Awards’ 40th Anniversary. The Songs of the 80s, is produced by Last Gang Entertainment.

NOW Magazine has also launched “NOW TALKS”, a series of talks throughout the year designed to bring all news and entertainment to life. Taking place in the NOW Lounge at 189 Church Street, this series of “NOW Talks” will focus on various artists from each decade joining NOW’s music editors to discuss the music from that decade. The ’80′s series takes place on Thursday January 6 at 7pm with MAESTRO FRESH WES and MARK HOLMES of PLATINUM BLONDE interviewed by NOW Magazine publisher, Michael Hollett. Tickets are $5.00 and available @ the door in advance or the night of the event.
Tickets are now on sale for all JUNO Decades shows. Proceeds will go to MusiCounts, Canada’s music education charity associated with CARAS.
The JUNO Awards and Exclaim! invite music fans to suggest their favourite Canadian songs from the ’80s. The presenting labels and bands will award their favourite selection with a performance of the suggested track along with a special prize package.
